Hi Fitria! Wow this is a topic I’ve never explored before, but I heard about it when there was a forest fire in Sumatra and the haze reached other SE countries. So there were talks about how Indonesia should pay for the pollution it’s “caused”. But it’s not that simple and there is a chance the fire was started illegally by a multinational company (example).I understand how this principle will work if the culprit of the pollution can be specifically identified, and if the “cost” of the pollution is something tangible. For example oil spills need money to clean up. But I still need a LOT more explanation, definitely interested to hear people's thoughts on this! I think it could be similar to Carbon Emission Trading which would be interesting to hear about as well 😂. @Project Planet ID should have an article about Polluter Pay Principle and Carbon Emission Trading!
